Imagine this, you have 59 min and 60 sec. Of which 27 min is taken for running 5K, 30 min with your coach to do Planks, Weight Resistance, and Squat. The last 3 Minutes for stretching. Sound intense!
Today, my coach came up with a different kind of exercise and its called Squat.
Me: What is Squat?
Coach: A different form of exercise and can be defined as a position in which one’s knees are bent and one’s heels are close to or touching one’s buttocks or the back of one’s thighs.
Me: What are some of its benefits?
Coach: Squats build leg muscles (including your quadriceps, hamstrings, and calves), and they also create an anabolic environment, which promotes body-wide muscle building.
My Coach added for a runner like me, “Glutes, Hamstrings, and Calves will make one reach the finish line in Sub 4”.
About Photo: Ingredients: Band resistance, dumbbell, and smartphone to take video to showcase and inspire to bring a better runner in you.
He added the glutes are sleeping giants: Dormant and underused, but having tons of potential.
Me: How often one should do it?
Coach: Three days in a week would be a very good with three repetitions
Me: I ask Done and Coach says Keep Going!
